Soloist of the Lviv State Philharmonic Society, born in 1981 in Lviv, belongs to the most eminent young Ukrainian pianists. He started to play piano at the age of six and graduated with distinction from M. Lysenko`s State Academy of Music in Lviv in the class of Prof Maria Tarnawiecka. After the academy, he continued his PhD studies under Prof Maria Tarnawiecka (2005-2008). He has won awards in national and international competitions and festivals, among them the first prize at the international competition “Art XXI” 2003 in Kiev at the Chamber music International festival 2004 in Kiev, he is a successful participant of many others music events in Ukraine and abroad.
Serhij Hryhorenko regularny performs in concerts as the soloist and with symphony orchestras in Ukraine and Poland. In 2006 he had a tournee in Swizerland. He has performed inter alia with Lviv Symphony Orchestra and Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra.
He received a scholarship from the Ukrainian Parliment (2003-2005).
He is also a recipient of scholarship from the Polish government “Gaude Polonia” in 2006.
In 2006 he has attended courses led by Prof Kazimierz Gierzod at Frederic Chopin`s Academy of Music in Warsaw.
His repertoire includes a rich range of Polish, German, Ukrainian, French and Russian music.
